Moyka

Monika Engeseth, who performs as Moyka, grew up in Hallingdal in eastern Norway and calls herself a Norwegian Pop Witch. Her pop draws on a national lineage shaped by Aurora, Sigrid, Highasakite and Röyksopp, but she aims for a self-contained world, a mystic universe she says she always works towards, much as Lorde and Lykke Li do.

Her first EP, Circles, came out in October 2019 with five songs, and appearances on NRK P3 and TV2's God Morgen Norge helped widen her profile. Performances at Eurosonic in January 2020 and the virtual Verftet festival that April followed, while a planned Great Escape slot in Brighton was cancelled during the pandemic. After signing with SNAFU Records in 2021, she released the debut album The Revelations of Love that October, then Movies, Cars & Heartbreak in October 2023, followed by a first European tour. In March 2024, two songs from that record appeared in the final season of Netflix's Young Royals, alongside a remix of As Long As You're Here. In 2026 she announced a Latin American tour and a larger European run tied to the album Bullseye.
