My New Band Believe

About My New Band Believe

Few bands arrive with a pedigree quite like this one. My New Band Believe is the English rock project of Cameron Picton, former bassist and vocalist of Black Midi, formed in 2025 after that band's 2024 hiatus. Picton sings and plays guitar, with a rotating cast of musicians on drums, bass, guitar, keyboards and saxophone around him. Where Black Midi were heavier, the group leans on a mostly acoustic sound that draws on free jazz, sophisti-pop, disco and tropicália.

Before forming the band, he released mixtapes of demos and live recordings under the name Camera Picture, partly to ease the pressure of releasing music and partly to gauge interest in future work. The debut single, Lecture 25, came out on 14 February 2025 with a video by Jack Shep. The non-album single Numerology, which drew positive reviews, previewed the self-titled debut album, announced for 10 April 2026. The album arrived that day to critical acclaim, and Picton has described it as almost entirely acoustic. Two major tours followed: UK dates from 28 April to 6 May 2026, and North American dates from 29 May to 7 June 2026.
