About Natural Child

Nashville's Natural Child play with the kind of grease that a Southern rock record can carry without apology. Their trio sound draws on Southern rock, vintage country-rock, the easy sway of Laurel Canyon, '70s boogie and a dash of hard rock, and their lyrics make no secret of a fondness for weed. Formed in 2009 by bassist Wez Traylor and drummer Zack Martin, who had just left the Turbo Fruits, another Nashville act, the band gained a singer and guitarist in Seth Murray, earlier of The Horribly Wrong in Bloomington, Indiana.

Across more than a decade, the band has built a steady catalogue. Their self-titled EP arrived in 2009, and 1971 followed in 2011. For the Love of the Game and Hard in Heaven both came out in 2012, and Dancin' With Wolves appeared in 2014. Bodyswitchers and Okey Dokey both arrived in 2016, a self-titled album followed in 2020, then Be M'Guest came out in 2023 and Wooden in 2026.
