About No Rome

Guendoline Rome Viray Gomez, who records as No Rome, grew up in San Francisco del Monte in Quezon City before settling in London, where he now lives. As a boy in Metro Manila he soaked up My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive, then moved on to Björk and Aphex Twin, and an early fascination with photography and poetry pointed him towards visual art and writing. The stage name grew out of a stock reply he kept getting when he said he was starting out in music.

His way into the UK ran through a demo sent to Samuel Burgess-Johnson, who passed it to Matty Healy, whose label Dirty Hit signed him and brought him to London. RIP Indo Hisashi followed in 2018 and included "Narcissist", a collaboration with The 1975 that the band later reworked as "TooTimeTooTimeTooTime", a single that reached No. 26 in the UK. In 2021 "Spinning", with Charli XCX and The 1975, reached No. 94 on the UK Singles Chart, and It's All Smiles arrived later that year to mixed reviews. Blueboy Must Die, a Kurisu-produced mixtape, appeared in September 2023, and in February 2026 he confirmed work on a second studio album.
