About Noah Kahan

A tree farm in Strafford, Vermont, was the unlikely starting point for Noah Kahan, the American singer-songwriter who learned guitar from his father and songwriting from his mother, a writer of parenting guides. He cites Paul Simon, Cat Stevens, Hozier and Sam Fender among his inspirations, and his work has moved from pop-leaning projects toward a folk-centred sound that gives his lyrics room to breathe.

Debut album Busyhead arrived in 2019, led by Hurt Somebody, featuring Julia Michaels, which earned gold status in the United States. Two more albums followed within five years: I Was / I Am in 2021 and Stick Season in 2022. The latter became his mainstream breakthrough, bringing a 2023 Grammy nomination for Best New Artist, and its title single topped the UK Singles Chart in January 2024 and reached No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100. Fourth album The Great Divide followed in 2026, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 as a rock album, before The Great Divide Tour, his first stadium run.
