About Odie Leigh

Odie Leigh, born Lauren Hicks, is an American indie folk singer-songwriter who grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and now works from Detroit, Michigan. Her route into the public eye ran through TikTok, where her original songs drew a wide following and eventually a full-time career. Her writing is emotionally direct and rich in lyrical invention, sitting where folk meets indie pop, and her self-taught, informal approach to songwriting shapes it throughout.

She released the EP How Did It Seem to You in 2022, followed in 2023 by The Only Thing Worse Than a Woman Who Lies Is a Girl Who'll Tell Truths. Her debut studio album, Carrier Pigeon, came out on Mom + Pop Music in July 2024, produced with Derek Ted. It moved her beyond stripped-back acoustic recording toward bigger arrangements, and All Things Considered named it among the best albums out that month. Paste also picked her as one of its Best of What's Next artists in 2024. She has played Newport Folk Festival and Outside Lands, and her live shows are described as intimate and conversational.
