About The Offspring

Few American punk bands did more to drag the genre into the mainstream during the 1990s than the Offspring. Formed in Garden Grove, California, in 1984 under the name Manic Subsidal, the group has sold more than 45 million records and ranks among punk's best-selling acts. Its current line-up pairs founding vocalist and guitarist Dexter Holland with lead guitarist Noodles, bassist Todd Morse, multi-instrumentalist Jonah Nimoy and drummer Brandon Pertzborn.

Their breakthrough came with Smash (1994), released on the independent Epitaph Records, which carried the hit "Come Out and Play" and has sold over 11 million copies worldwide. Columbia Records signed the band in 1996. Ixnay on the Hombre (1997) fell short of its predecessor's sales but drew favourable reviews, while Americana (1998) produced "Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)" and "Why Don't You Get a Job?" and peaked at number two on the Billboard 200. A decade later, Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace (2008) revived their fortunes, its single "You're Gonna Go Far, Kid" topping the Billboard rock charts for eleven weeks. Their most recent studio album, Supercharged, came out in 2024.
