Overmono

Two brothers from Wales, Tom and Ed Russell, make up Overmono, and their music draws on years of apprenticeship in very different corners of electronic music. Before they joined forces, Tom ran through hard techno as Truss, while Ed made drum and bass and rave-inspired tracks as Tessela, including 2013's "Hackney Parrot". Their shared work folds those influences into one flexible sound that moves easily between the dancefloor and the song.

Their partnership began in 2015, and debut EP Arla arrived on XL Recordings in 2016. Ed had founded their own label, Poly Kicks, in 2013; it has released Joy Orbison and Special Request, and the pair's remix of For Those I Love's "I Have A Love" from 2020. Joy Orbison is a frequent collaborator, and their 2019 release "Bromley" / "Still Moving", issued under the portmanteau Joy Overmono, was followed in 2022 by "Blind Date", which features a vocal sample from ABRA. Their debut album, Good Lies, appeared on XL in May 2023 and reached number 11 on the UK Albums Chart. The DJ Mag award for UK's Best Live Act came in 2021, and in 2025 they headlined the West Holts stage at Glastonbury.
