About Palaye Royale
A Toronto dance hall where the brothers' grandparents first met gave the Las Vegas rock band Palaye Royale its name, a family thread that runs through much of their story. Formed in 2008 by Remington Leith, Sebastian Danzig and Emerson Barrett, the brothers started out as Kropp Circle, playing acoustic soft rock, before renaming themselves in 2011. Under the new name they have since released five full-length albums and four EPs through Sumerian Records.
The breakthrough came in 2014, when they became the first unsigned band to win MTV's Musical March Madness tournament, beating out Linkin Park along the way. They signed to Sumerian in late 2015, and Boom Boom Room (Side A) arrived in June 2016, with its single Get Higher reaching number 26 on the Billboard Modern Rock chart. Their second album, Boom Boom Room (Side B), followed in September 2018, after the band had finished it just a week before joining that year's Warped Tour. The Bastards came out in May 2020, and Fever Dream and Death or Glory have followed since, alongside the Sextape and Songs for Sadness EPs.
