About Papa Roach

Papa Roach began as a friendship between singer Jacoby Shaddix and drummer Dave Buckner, who met on a high school football field in Vacaville, California, in 1993. Their lineup, which included guitarist Jerry Horton and bassist Tobin Esperance alongside Shaddix and Buckner, settled in 1996 and held together for slightly over a decade, giving the American rock band the stability to move from self-released EPs to a major-label contract.

Their debut album, Old Friends from Young Years, appeared in February 1997. After Warner Bros. passed on a 1999 demo, DreamWorks Records offered a deal, and Infest, which went triple-platinum, followed in April 2000, selling 30,001 copies in its first week. Its single "Last Resort" reached No. 1 on the Alternative Songs chart and was certified six-times platinum. Lovehatetragedy arrived in 2002, and Getting Away with Murder, which was platinum-certified, came in 2004, with its single "Scars" peaking at No. 15 on the Hot 100. Ego Trip, the eleventh studio album, came out in 2022.
