About Quadeca
Benjamin Fernando Barajas Lasky, who records as Quadeca, started out as a YouTube personality before the music took over. Born in Los Angeles in 2000, he built an audience through video game commentary and rap freestyles under the name QuadecaX8, and his work as a singer-songwriter, producer and rapper has since drawn critical acclaim. His records move from combative diss tracks toward concept albums that explore death and self-reflection.
His debut album, Voice Memos, arrived in March 2019 and reached No. 42 on Billboard's Independent Albums and Heatseekers Albums charts. It followed a diss track, "Insecure", written in answer to KSI's criticism of YouTube rappers. From Me to You came in March 2021 after an extended hiatus, preceded by the self-produced single "Sisyphus". I Didn't Mean to Haunt You, released in November 2022, is told from the perspective of a ghost, and critics such as Anthony Fantano responded warmly to it. The Scrapyard mixtape followed in 2024, and the album Vanisher, Horizon Scraper came out in July 2025, accompanied by a full-length film.
