About Riley Green
Johnathan Riley Green grew up in Jacksonville, Alabama, and that small-town South shapes his music. Born there in 1988, he took up music under his grandfather, Buford Green, who ran a venue called The Golden Saw. Riley performed there weekly in a converted sawmill, learning his craft. When Taste of Country reviewed his debut single, the critic Billy Dukes heard a neotraditional leaning that set Green apart from his peers.
Green joined Big Machine Label Group in 2018, a label now known as Nashville Harbor Records & Entertainment. His debut single, "There Was This Girl", came out in August 2018 and reached No. 1 on Country Airplay in April 2019. His debut album, Different 'Round Here, followed in September 2019, and the Academy of Country Music named him New Male Artist of the Year. In 2022 and 2023 he opened stadium dates for Luke Combs and Morgan Wallen. Ain't My Last Rodeo arrived in October 2023 with a re-recorded duet with Combs, and Don't Mind If I Do followed in October 2024, its title track a duet with Ella Langley. His fourth album, That's Just Me, was released in September 2026.
