About Roo Panes

Few folk singers arrive with a family history quite like Roo Panes's. Raised in a household steeped in performance, with a classical pianist grandmother and a mother who studied performing arts before working in theatre, the English singer-songwriter has built his music on introspective lyrics and a band of string players. His sound rests on a 12-string acoustic guitar, and his artwork has a built-in collaborator: his older sister, an illustrator, has designed the sleeves for all of his albums.

His début LP, Little Giant, appeared in autumn 2014, preceded by the single "Tiger Striped Sky", which came out on 23 June that year. Earlier, he had released three EPs, Once and Weight of Your World in 2012 and Land of the Living in 2013, and in 2012 he gained a wide audience through a Burberry campaign alongside actress Gabriella Wilde, a deal that also covered recording for Burberry Acoustic. Paperweights followed in 2016, then Quiet Man in 2018, with a deluxe edition the year after. His most recent studio album arrived on 24 March 2023, with the vinyl following on 5 May.
