Artist
Ryan Gosling's path to leading-man status began on a Disney Channel revival of The All New Mickey Mouse Club, a role he took as a twelve-year-old. The Canadian actor, singer and musician, born in London, Ontario, in 1980, has since built a career across independent films and major studio features. His leading roles have grossed over US$4 billion worldwide, and he has received a Golden Globe alongside three Academy Award nominations.
After early television work, including Breaker High and Young Hercules, which he filmed in New Zealand, Gosling made his feature debut in Frankenstein and Me (1996). He earned praise for The Believer (2001), and became a leading man with The Notebook (2004). Lars and the Real Girl (2007) brought several Best Actor nominations. He made his directorial debut with the fantasy film Lost River in 2014. Away from the screen, his band Dead Man's Bones released a self-titled debut album and toured North America in 2009, and he co-owns Tagine, a Moroccan restaurant in Beverly Hills.
