About Samia

Samia Finnerty's path runs through acting families, New York theatre and songwriting that refuses to pick a single mood. Born in Los Angeles to the actors Kathy Najimy and Dan Finnerty, she moved to New York at fifteen, and her name honours her Lebanese grandmother. That heritage sits alongside a recurring interest in how levity and pain coexist, the idea she named as the spark for her 2019 EP.

Her early singles arrived steadily, from "Someone Tell The Boys", which gained traction on Spotify after appearing on Discover Weekly, to the 2019 EP Lasting Friend/Paris. Her debut album, The Baby, followed in August 2020 to positive reviews, opening with "Pool", which begins with the last voicemail her grandmother left, singing a Lebanese lullaby. In 2023 Honey arrived, and in April 2025 came Bloodless, released through Grand Jury Music. A Tiny Desk performance of "Pool" then went viral in summer 2025, and in November she released the live album Bloodless Tour – Live From First Avenue.
