About Seb Fontaine

Born Jean-Sebastien Douglas Fontaine on 14 July 1970, the English producer and DJ known as Seb Fontaine came up through London's club scene. His first DJ gig was at Crazy Larry's on the Kings Road, and before long he had a residency at the Fridge in Brixton in 1989. After working at Subteranea and Billion Dollar Babes, he became a resident DJ at Cream, one of the UK's largest nightclubs, and also featured at its Ibiza nights.

In 2000 Fontaine joined BBC Radio 1 as a specialist dance DJ, presenting a weekly show and covering outside broadcasts from Ibiza. He left the station in 2004 to team up with Julian Peake as Reflekt. Alongside his DJing he has released a string of records, mostly mix albums, and worked as a remix producer on tracks by the Outhere Brothers. The Type brand, which he uses for club nights and album releases, is also part of his work.
