About Sharon Cuneta
Few Filipino entertainers have worked as widely as Sharon Cuneta, whose career spans film, television, recording and business. Born on 6 January 1966, she is known for dramatic and comedic leading roles on screen, and fans have long called her the Megastar. Her record sales have passed a million in the Philippines, placing her among the country's best-selling musical artists of all time. The grounding came early: she grew up with her father's record collection, and her mother had studied piano at the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music, so the young Cuneta took up piano, guitar and flute.
Her recording career started in 1978, when she was twelve, with "Tawag ng Pag-ibig" on Vicor Records. The follow-up, "Mr. DJ", a song by Rey Valera, became a popular hit, earned her the nickname "DJ's Pet" and her first Gold Record. Film work began with Dear Heart in 1981 opposite Gabby Conception, and continued through blockbusters including Bituing Walang Ningning (1985) and Kahit Konting Pagtingin (1990). Her multi-platinum Isn't It Romantic? arrived in 2006, and in 2016 and 2017 she judged The Voice Kids and The Voice Teens.
