About The Snuts
Three of them had been primary school classmates before Jack Cochrane joined at secondary, and by their teens The Snuts had a sound of their own. Their Scottish indie rock draws on the Libertines and Arctic Monkeys, plus the Ned culture of their upbringing, and they say they want to sound like nobody else. Before going full time, Cochrane worked as a joiner, Wilson as a slater and Mackay as a mechanic.
The demo Glasgow, their debut single, quickly won them a growing fanbase, and The Matador EP followed in 2017. Signing with Parlophone in November 2018 led to a US debut at South by Southwest in Austin, while the EP Mixtape reached number 14 on the UK Albums Chart and topped the Scottish one. Their debut album W.L. debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart in April 2021, the first Scottish band to do so with a debut since The View in 2007. Support slots with the Kooks, Louis Tomlinson and Kings of Leon followed, and the band had already written a second album by July 2021.
