Soleima

Behind the name Soleima is Sarah Mariegaard, a Danish singer-songwriter born in December 1988. Before going solo she was a member of Flødeklinikken, the Danish hip hop collective, and in 2014 she established herself as a solo artist under the Soleima name. That move from collective member to songwriter working under her own banner is the thread running through her early releases.

Her debut single, "My Boi", arrived on 14 June 2015. Two years later came the EP NO. 14, preceded by three singles, "Once Was", "Wasted" and "Breathe" featuring Kranium and Hoodboi. "Cracks" from that EP was recognised as a P3 Uundgåelige, or P3 Unavoidable, in the week beginning 16 January 2017, making it one of the most played songs on Danish national radio that week. "Low Life", from the EP Bulldog, earned the same honour in January 2018. Her first studio album, Powerslide, followed in 2020, alongside her first US tour.
