About SOMBR

Sombr is the stage name of Shane Boose, a New York-born, Los Angeles-based songwriter who taught himself to build songs at a laptop. He began with GarageBand at the end of primary school, moved on to Logic Pro through online tutorials, and chose to produce his own material rather than hand it to outsiders. The name folds in his initials, SMB. His sound sits between indie rock, alt-pop and pop rock, with Jeff Buckley shaping his voice and Radiohead, a staple of his father's playlists, in the background.

He released his first single, "Nothing Left to Say", in 2021, and "Caroline" went viral in 2022, which led to a Warner Records deal and the EP In Another Life in 2023. The real surge came in 2025, when "Back to Friends" and "Undressed" took off on TikTok. "Undressed" topped the Irish chart and reached the UK top five. He added "12 to 12", then the album I Barely Know Her, which reached the top ten in the US and UK. It brought a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. "Homewrecker" followed in February 2026, peaking at number 16 on the Hot 100, and "My Body Isn't Ready" arrived in June 2026.
