About Spunge

Spunge are a ska punk band from Tewkesbury whose reputation was built on the road. Over the years they have shared bills with a range of UK bands and American names including Green Day, Dropkick Murphys and Reel Big Fish, and Bowling for Soup, who once supported them on a UK tour, sang backing vocals on "Centerfold" from That Should Cover It! Conceived in July 1994 with almost today's line-up, the core membership has barely shifted.

Progress was measured in gigs before records. After bassist changes in the late 1990s, the Kicking Pigeons EP appeared in 1998, following 5000 copies sold at pub gigs. Debut album Pedigree Chump arrived in 1999 on MoonSka Europe, and Room for Abuse in 2000 included a cover of Bob Marley's "No Woman No Cry", the first Marley cover to be altered with the family's permission. A 2002 deal with B-Unique yielded The Story So Far, whose single "Jump on Demand" reached No. 39 in the UK Singles Chart. The band later managed themselves and founded Dent'All Records in 2004, and their latest release noted here is the fan-voted compilation Greatest Hit......S from 2013.
