About The Steeldrivers
From Nashville, Tennessee, comes a bluegrass outfit built around fiddle, bass, guitar, mandolin and banjo. Current members are fiddler Tammy Rogers, bassist Mike Fleming, guitarist Matt Dame, mandolinist Brent Truitt and banjoist Richard Bailey. Their recorded output includes four albums on Rounder Records and a live set recorded at the Station Inn.
Signing to Rounder Records in 2007 after many festival dates, the group released its self-titled debut in 2008, with Chris Stapleton on lead vocals, which reached No. 57 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. 'Blue Side of the Mountain' earned a 2009 Grammy nomination, and Reckless brought two nominations in 2010. Stapleton left in April 2010 to focus on family, and Gary Nichols replaced him. Mike Henderson left in December 2011 and Brent Truitt took his place. In 2015 the band won a Grammy for The Muscle Shoals Recordings. Kelvin Damrell sang lead from 2018 and on Bad for You in 2020, and Matt Dame took over as lead singer after Damrell left in July 2021.
