About The Stunning
The Stunning built their reputation on the stage, and strong live performances still draw a large following across Ireland. Formed in Galway in 1987 by Steve Wall, the Irish rock band found its footing with singles such as "Brewing Up a Storm" and "Romeo's on Fire", songs that reward a crowd singing along.
Their first release, the single "Got to Get Away" (1988), reached No. 17 in the Irish charts, and a long tour that began in the west and worked eastwards ended with a three-week residency at the Baggot Inn in Dublin. The debut album, Paradise in the Picture House, went to number one in June 1990 and stayed there for five weeks, while follow-up Once Around the World went straight to the top, with hits including "Heads" and "Mr. Ginger". Support slots for Bob Dylan at the Hammersmith Apollo and The B-52s did not bring a UK record deal, and the band split up in 1994. They returned in 2003 with a special edition of their debut album, and in March 2018 released Twice Around the World, their first studio album in 26 years.
