About Sundy Best
Two boyhood friends from Prestonsburg, in Eastern Kentucky, make up this American duo, and their name is a wink at the church clothes they wore on Sunday mornings. Nick Jamerson sings and plays guitar while Kris Bentley keeps time on cajón, and their sound draws on country, Appalachian folk, bluegrass, rock, soul and R&B. Both had played college sport before they began working together, Jamerson at football in Pikeville and Bentley at basketball in Danville.
Their debut, Door Without a Screen, grew out of a $15,000 Kickstarter campaign in December 2011, and it came out in summer 2012 before E1 Music issued a deluxe edition in August 2013. Bring Up the Sun followed in March 2014, produced by RS Field, with remakes of Home, Lilly and These Days alongside the single Until I Met You. Its debut week brought No. 11 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and No. 70 on the Billboard 200. Salvation City came out in December 2014 and entered the country albums chart at No. 22. In March 2018 Jamerson announced the split on Facebook, and the pair announced a reunion in October 2020.
