About Sys Bjerre

Sys Bjerre is a Danish singer-songwriter, and in her home country her name first travelled through a single song. "Malene" carried her into the public eye in the summer of 2008, but it was not her first step. Earlier she had sung a duet with Thomas Buttenschøn and toured alongside Tue West, work that placed her among other performers before the hit arrived. Those appearances show her working with other artists before the single made her name.

The hit led to a broadcasting role. On 28 October 2008, Danmarks Radio publicly announced that it had accepted her as co-host of Boogie, working alongside Jeppe Voldum. She had been invited to the casting for the programme, and the announcement came only months after "Malene" had established her name. For a singer whose profile had grown through music, the move into hosting marked a clear change of direction.
