Thee Marloes

Funk, psychedelic soul and R&B meet in the music of Thee Marloes, an Indonesian band whose sound draws on all three at once. Formed in 2019, the group sets the loose, rhythmic pulse of funk against the hazier colours of psychedelia, so a listener rarely settles into a single mood for long. Taken together, those influences define the group's identity.

The group began with four members in 2019: Bimantara Lestarijono, Natassya Sianturi, Sinatrya Dharaka and Tommy Satwick. Lestarijono's membership ended in 2022, while the other three are listed as current members. Their album Perak came out in 2024, and Di Hotel Malibu followed in 2026, and the sequence of those releases is the most concrete record of their work to date. No tours, singles or awards are recorded here, so the story so far rests on those two albums and a line-up that has held steady since 2022.
