About Thorsten Wingenfelder
Thorsten Wingenfelder, born in Hamburg in 1966, has built much of his reputation as the guitarist and songwriter of Fury in the Slaughterhouse, the Hanover rock band he co-founded in 1986 with his brother Kai. Many of the group's best-known songs, among them Time To Wonder, Won't Forget These Days and Radio Orchid, came from the pair's pens. Away from the stage he has worked as a photographer since 2007, producing promotional portraits for Fools Garden and campaign images for Schwarzkopf.
The band sold four million records over almost two decades and reached the Billboard Modern Rock chart in the United States in 1994. From 2010 he and Kai also recorded as Wingenfelder, and their debut Besser zu zweit reached number 35 in Germany in 2011. A reunion of Fury at Hanover's Expo Plaza in June 2013, five years after the band's split, drew 25,000 visitors. The brothers' 2018 album Sieben Himmel hoch, their fourth as Wingenfelder, peaked at number nine, and their final album, Schlicht und ergreifend, arrived in October 2024 and reached number 16. They played a farewell concert in Bochum on 12 January 2025, closing the chapter.
