About Tim Christensen

Tim Christensen has spent much of his career as the singer, guitarist and songwriter of Dizzy Mizz Lizzy, the Danish alternative rock band he co-founded in 1988. Born in Copenhagen in 1974, he came to music through his father's Beatles records, and he plays multiple instruments with a sound rooted in rock but shaped by pop and folk. His solo work carries those same leanings, and his influences range from The Beatles and Led Zeppelin to Nick Drake, Neil Young and Elliott Smith.

After winning DM i Rock, Denmark's largest rock talent contest, in 1993, the band signed with EMI-Medley, and their 1994 eponymous debut sold over 250,000 copies in Denmark and 100,000 in Japan. Their second album, Rotator, was recorded at Abbey Road Studios and released in 1996. Meanwhile, Christensen formed Swan Lee with Pernille Rosendahl that same year, and Dizzy Mizz Lizzy split in March 1998 after the members admitted they were fatigued. The band returned in 2010 and has been active again since 2014, when Christensen began focusing mainly on it. Across his solo career he has released four studio albums, two EPs and two live DVDs.
