About Tokyo Rose
From the United States, Tokyo Rose works where synthwave meets dance and EDM, a meeting point that gives the project a foot in both retro-tinged electronic music and the pulse of the club floor. Since the 2014 EP Chases, the act has built a catalogue that moves steadily between short releases and full-length albums, and its titles repeat a set of recurring words, among them chase, demons, reverb and akuma, which suggests a running thread across the work.
The first run arrived in quick succession: Chases in 2014, Chases 2 in 2016, then The Chase: Last Run and AKUMA in 2017. AKUMA II followed in 2019 and TOKYO ROSE & Friends in 2020, with DEMONS & REVERB and Rebels both appearing in 2021 and AKUMA III in 2022. Three albums arrived in 2024: DEMONS & NIGHTCORE 2, DEMONS & REVERB 3 and DEMONS & REVERB II. The most recent material includes the PAYBACK EP from 2025, the KILLWAVE EP and the album AFTER THE FUTURE, both from 2026.
