About Trevor Hall
Trevor Hall, the American singer-songwriter and guitarist born in 1986, blends roots, folk and reggae into music that keeps returning to spirituality and self-exploration. Raised partly in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, he tried trombone and bass before settling on guitar, shaped early by a drummer father and the music around him. His songs ask big questions without losing their footing in the everyday.
Hall's years at Idyllwild Arts Academy in California proved decisive, bringing him to yoga, meditation and a weekend at the Laguna Beach Kali Temple, and in 2006 he converted to Hinduism. He had already been signed to Geffen Records during his senior year. His album Kala, written in Hawaii and recorded in Los Angeles, came out in 2015 and debuted at No. 2 on the iTunes singer-songwriter chart. The Fruitful Darkness (2018) was his first fully independent release, backed entirely by fans, and the campaign behind it was the top music project on Kickstarter in 2017. In 2019 he headlined Red Rocks Amphitheater with Nahko and Medicine for the People, and In And Through The Body followed in 2020 as another independent record.
