About Triggerfinger

Few Belgian rock acts have travelled as far on a single riff as Triggerfinger, the Lier-based band that has spent more than two decades refining hard-edged guitar music. Formed in 1998, the group is fronted by vocalist and guitarist Ruben Block, with Mario Goossens, formerly of Winterville, on drums. Early listeners heard in them a bridge between generations: younger fans drew comparisons with Queens of the Stone Age, while older rock audiences heard Led Zeppelin.

Their self-titled debut arrived in 2004, after the singles Inner Peace and Camaro had already built a following, and it was well received by rock fans. What Grabs Ya? did not deliver the breakthrough the band wanted, although its 2009 re-issue added new songs. All This Dancin' Around, recorded at Sound City Studios in North Hollywood, followed in November 2010 and widened their audience. The acoustic cover of Lykke Li's I Follow Rivers hit number one in Belgium in 2012, and in 2013 they supported the Rolling Stones in Hyde Park. Bassist Paul Van Bruystegem died in October 2025, aged 66, after a long illness.
