About Trivium
Trivium has spent more than two decades blending metalcore, melodic death metal and thrash into a sound that began in Orlando, Florida. Its creative centre rests with three long-serving members: vocalist and guitarist Matt Heafy, who joined at the start, guitarist Corey Beaulieu, who arrived in 2003, and bassist Paolo Gregoletto, who followed in 2004. Drummers have come and gone many times over the years, the latest being Alex Rüdinger, who joined in October 2025.
The debut, Ember to Inferno, arrived on Lifeforce Records in 2003 and was the only album the band released on that label before signing to Roadrunner Records in 2004. Their 2005 follow-up, Ascendancy, entered the Billboard 200 at No. 151 and earned Kerrang! magazine's Album of the Year, while its track Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr became a regular set-closer. The Crusade, released in 2006, opened at number 25 on the Billboard 200, though critics compared its thrash leanings unfavourably with Metallica. Its tenth studio album, In the Court of the Dragon, arrived in 2021, and the band has sold over a million records worldwide.
