Twin Atlantic

From Glasgow, Twin Atlantic make alternative rock with a clear sense of place. GLA, the airport code for their hometown, gave their 2016 album its title. Sam McTrusty sings and plays rhythm guitar, Ross McNae plays bass, and former lead guitarist Barry McKenna, who left in 2019, still joins them on stage. Formed in 2006, they have released seven albums, and the catalogue rewards close listening.

Their debut mini-album, Vivarium, appeared in 2009, and over the following two years the band toured widely, supporting Blink-182 and My Chemical Romance. Free arrived in 2011 with the single Edit Me, and a remix of its title track closed the Discovery Channel's coverage of Felix Baumgartner's 2012 Red Bull Stratos jump. Great Divide gave them their highest-charting single, Heart and Soul, which reached number 17 on the UK Singles Chart and won Best Independent Track at the 2014 Association of Independent Music Awards. The seventh album, Meltdown, completes the catalogue.
