About Two Friends

Two Friends turn hour-long mixes into a calling card: Eli Sones and Matthew Halper, a Los Angeles production duo, built their following on original tracks, remixes and their long-running Big Bootie mixes. The pair met in seventh grade at Brentwood School and started out making hip-hop beats in Pro Tools for up-and-coming rappers before a visit to the Sahara Tent at Coachella pulled them toward electronic music. Sones came to the project through DJing and mashups, while Halper brought guitar lessons from the age of eight and a taste for alternative rock.

Their first notable break came in 2014, when a remix of Lana Del Rey's "Born to Die" entered rotation on SiriusXM's BPM. The same year they released two singles with Breach the Summit, now known as Armors. Their 2016 originals "Forever" and "Overdose", released on Armada Music, gathered millions of plays, and the 2017 EP "Out of Love" on Spinnin' Records brought "Pacific Coast Highway" and the title track. In 2023 they played Coachella and the Planet Two Friends Tour, and in 2025 they released "Trouble" featuring maryjo and a remix of Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline."
