Tyrone Wells

Raised in Spokane, Washington, and later shaped by years in Southern California, Tyrone Wells is a singer-songwriter whose work sits where tender acoustic writing meets brighter pop rock. Wells is the lead vocalist of the duo Oh the Larceny, alongside producer Dustin Burnett, and he also fronts the bands WAR*HALL and Royal Deluxe. His songwriting took hold only after he moved to California, though he has credited his older sisters with first bringing music into his life.

While studying at Hope International University he joined Sinai in 1994, later renamed Skypark, whose 1998 album Am I Pretty? earned a Dove Award nomination. He launched his solo career in 2000, playing acoustic shows in Orange County, and signed with Universal Records in 2006, which released Hold On in stores in February 2007. Remain followed in 2009, with "More" reaching No. 13 on the Triple A chart and "Sink or Swim" heard in promos for the sixth season of Grey's Anatomy. The 2010 EP Metal & Wood spent nearly three weeks at No. 1 on the iTunes Singer-Songwriter chart, and Where We Meet (March 2012) debuted at No. 1 on that same chart.
