About The Wrecks
Few debut singles have carried a band as far as 'Favorite Liar' carried the Wrecks. Released in 2016, the track became the first calling card for this Los Angeles-based American pop rock group, whose current members include Nick Anderson, Nick Schmidt and Aaron Kelley. The group's roots run back to Coastbound, a pop-punk act that Anderson and Kelley formed in 2014 and later put on hiatus to chase an indie rock project. Most of the founding members hailed from the East Coast, and their early songs were self-recorded in a friend's home studio over just three days.
The Wrecks released their debut EP, We Are The Wrecks, online in April 2016, then opened for Nothing But Thieves that summer before signing with Another Century Records in December. Panic Vertigo, recorded at a friend's barn studio in rural New York, arrived in February 2018 and includes 'Way With Words', co-written with Alex Gaskarth of All Time Low. In 2019 they moved to Big Noise Music Group, releasing 'Freaking Out' that June. Their debut album, Infinitely Ordinary, followed on May 1, 2020, and features 'Fvck Somebody'. By January 2025, 'Favorite Liar' had passed fifty million Spotify streams.
