About Ylona Garcia

Ylona Garcia came to wide attention as a teenager on Pinoy Big Brother, the ABS-CBN reality series that made her a household name in the Philippines before she had turned fourteen. Born in Sydney in 2002 to a family of five siblings, she brings a Filipino-Australian perspective to her singing, songwriting and acting, and her work sits comfortably within the pop and R&B-leaning styles that have carried her from local television to an international audience. Now based in the United States, she releases her music through the Asian American label 88rising, a home that suits a performer who moves easily between languages and markets.

Garcia finished as first runner-up on the 2015 season, a result she secured with 42.24 per cent of the public vote. The same year she recorded "Win the Fight" and "Magmahal Muli" in the house, and a cast role in the film Trending: Love followed. Her later milestones include the R&B-featuring single "Walk In My Timbs" with Jay-R in 2020, a performance at 88rising's Double Happiness Winter Festival that December, and the label's 2021 signing, which opened the next phase of her career.
