About Zélie
Zélie Claeyssen, born in Lille in December 2001, spent her teens training as a contemporary dancer in Paris. A ukulele from friends at seventeen, inspired by Grace VanderWaal, turned her towards songwriting. Her French-language pop, which she calls urban and authentic, draws on Étienne Daho and Dominique A, and on Angèle, whose concert she attended. Her lyrics turn inward, dealing with nostalgia, anxiety and her difficult relationship with her body.
Her debut EP, Zélie, c'est quoi, arrived in 2023 with nine songs about nostalgia and the conformity of the music business. Later that year she teamed up with Baptiste Ventadour on L'autoroute, which gathered several tens of thousands of Spotify plays within a week. Her debut album, Un million de petits chocs, followed in early 2024 with guest appearances from Jok'Air and Mauvaise Bouche, and a first tour took her across France. Her second album, Le cœur et sa dictature, came out on 27 February 2026 with fifteen tracks, and an Olympia show is set for 1 December 2026.
