Vancouver punk band PISS have released a new single, added a headline show at London's Scala on 24 February 2027 and confirmed they will play Primavera Sound in Barcelona on 4 June 2027, Dork reports.

The single is titled 'Rote Zora. "Resistance is Possible." Emma, no. 6, June 1984, pp. 39-41.' It is the third preview of the band's debut album, 'you made me / skin on linen', which is due on 30 October through Sub Pop worldwide and Paper Bag Records in Canada. The video was directed by Eila Vallevand and mixes found footage with animation.

An archival source for the lyrics

The song's lyrics are drawn from an interview transcript that German feminist magazine Emma first published in 1984. The unusually specific title appears to be a citation of that issue and its page range, though Dork does not spell out the reasoning behind it.

It follows 'time loop at hot slit' and 'blocking a scene you can't remember', which came out in September. The album has 15 tracks.

London dates

The band's show at Moth Club in London on 14 November has sold out. The newly added Scala date is described by Dork as a larger London show. Primavera Sound on 4 June 2027 is the other new date to be confirmed.

Before that, PISS support Gilla Band across North America in October, then play Iceland Airwaves on 5 November, Pitchfork Paris on 7 November and Sonic City in Kortrijk on 8 November. They also play Paradiso's Small Hall in Amsterdam on 10 November and Merleyn in Nijmegen on 11 November.

The album

The record was made with Colin Stewart at Hive Creative Labs in January 2025. Dork says it explores a childhood marked by structural, systemic and intimate violence. The line-up is Taylor Zantingh on vocals, Tyler Paterson on guitar, Gavin Moya on bass and Garreth Roberts on drums.

Speaking to Dork in May about preparing for the band's physical live show, Zantingh said: "It's a work in progress, and I'm constantly learning about what my body needs to be able to endure it night after night."

Dork also publishes a feature on the band, which says the four-piece originally planned to play only one show. The album can be pre-ordered through Sub Pop and Bandcamp.
