Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) and Insomniac have announced Map Point Summit, a three-day conference for electronic music and rave culture, to be held at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas in May 2027, Electronic Groove reports.

The inaugural edition is scheduled to fall between the two weekends of EDC: the Dusk weekend on May 14-16 and the Dawn weekend on May 21-23. The organizers describe a program of educational sessions, workshops, discussions and networking, aimed at independent promoters, artists, creators, entrepreneurs and industry professionals.

Where the idea came from

Insomniac founder and CEO Pasquale Rotella presented the project in a keynote conversation at the 30th Amsterdam Dance Event. The session was moderated by Billboard Dance Director Katie Bain and, per Electronic Groove, covered independent promoters, rave culture and the building of a more sustainable industry ecosystem. Rotella said:

"We need to support independent promoters, share knowledge, create opportunities for the next generation, and work together to build an industry that allows rave culture to thrive on its own terms."

The name draws on early underground raves, where attendees were handed directions to party locations that were otherwise kept secret. The organizers say they want to recast that idea as a meeting place for the electronic music community.

What has and has not been announced

Sustainability and support for independent promoters are the stated themes, but the announcement so far describes aims rather than mechanisms. Rotella's remarks name supporting promoters, sharing knowledge and creating opportunities for the next generation. The information published to date does not specify how the sessions or workshops will deliver on those goals.

What is confirmed is the structure of the partnership. Electronic Groove describes it as pairing Insomniac's experience in live electronic music events with ADE's conference, education and professional development programs.

Additional speakers, programming and ticket information have yet to be announced, and an interest-registration page is available for updates. Whether the summit becomes a practical resource for smaller promoters, rather than a broader industry meeting, will depend on details that have not yet been released, including who speaks, what is taught and how accessible attendance proves to be.
