About Ashcroft Theatre
Tucked inside the Fairfield Halls in Croydon, South London, the Ashcroft Theatre takes its name from Dame Peggy Ashcroft, who was born in the town. It is a proscenium house with a stepped auditorium seating 763, and its fire curtain carries a mural by Henry Bird. Throughout the year the room hosts drama, ballet, opera and pantomime, and it can also be screened as a cinema with a large screen for widescreen and standard film formats.
Pop is the main style on the programme at present, and four shows are booked, one of them within the next thirty days. Michael Starring Ben, Allstars: The Music of ABBA, Nathan Carter and 10cc are among the headliners, listed soonest first. Shows usually start around 19:30.
