About Bardavon 1869 Opera House
The Bardavon 1869 Opera House sits in the downtown district of Poughkeepsie, New York, and is the oldest continuously operating theatre in New York State. Designed by J.A. Wood and built in 1869, it hosted performing arts, community meetings and celebrations until 1923. From then until 1975 it operated mainly as a cinema, though live performances, especially vaudeville, continued during those years. Since 1976 it has been a general performing arts facility.
The programme is light at the moment, with one show listed for the next 30 days, headlined by Neko Case. Start times, prices and age policy are not listed here, so check with the box office before you buy.
