About Cork Opera House
Cork Opera House traces its story to 1855, when its first building rose on Emmet Place behind the Crawford Art Gallery. A fire destroyed that original hall in 1955, and the replacement opened in 1965, with further additions made in the early twenty-first century. The main room seats 1000, and in 2015 it staged more than 100 theatre, music, opera and comedy events, so it works as a broad, multi-purpose house rather than a single-genre room.
Right now the programme leans towards rock, with two shows listed in the next 30 days. Gavin James and The Frank and Walters are the upcoming headliners, soonest first, so the near-term calendar gives a clear sense of the bookings. Start times, prices and age policy are not given here, so check the event details before you buy.
