About Hope And Anchor

The Hope And Anchor is a pub on Upper Street in Islington, first opened in 1880, with a theatre upstairs. In the mid-1970s it was among the earliest pubs to take up pub rock, and after that brief wave it became a leading punk venue. The building is Grade II listed and is owned and run by Greene King.

It still trades as a pub and live music room. Two upcoming shows are listed, though none fall within the next 30 days, and the most common age policy is 18+.
