About Isle of Wight Festival
The Isle of Wight Festival returned to the Seaclose Park site in Newport in 2002, when Rock Island was staged as a one-day event on 3 June, almost thirty-two years after the previous festival. The site was given a capacity of 22,000, though between 8,000 and 10,000 people attended. Local band Neglected Youth won the right to open the concert through a recent talent contest, a tradition continued in later years.
The programme currently lists one upcoming date, though none falls within the next thirty days. Only the festival name is given as the headliner, with no named acts, start time, prices or age policy shown. For the 2002 event, limited camping was also made available on nearby fields.
