Venue
Known locally as The Jac, this Liverpool room is closely tied to the birth of Merseybeat. Allan Williams, the first manager of The Beatles, opened it in 1958, and it gave the band an early foothold alongside local names such as Gerry and the Pacemakers and Rory Storm and The Hurricanes. It still runs as a live venue, record shop and bar, and is home to Jacaranda Records.
The programme is busy, with 51 upcoming shows, 31 of them in the next 30 days. Headliners coming up soonest include An Afternoon of Indie, an indie night for the over 30s, followed by Saint Clair, Saves the Day and The Wombats. There is also one free show listed, and the most common age policy is 18+.
