About Lulworth Castle

Set south of Wool in East Lulworth, Lulworth Castle is an early 17th-century hunting lodge built to resemble a fortified castle. It is one of only five surviving buildings of its kind from the Elizabethan and Jacobean period. A fire in 1929 damaged its 18th-century interior in the Adam style, but the rooms have since been restored and now operate as a museum. The castle stands within Lulworth Park, and its grounds are also protected.
