About Manchester Academy 2
Manchester Academy 2 is one of four rooms in the Manchester Academy complex on the University of Manchester campus, alongside Academy 1, Academy 3 and Club Academy. The venues occupy two buildings: the Students' Union, dating from 1957, and an academy block completed in 1990. Unlike many UK venues using the Academy name, this one is not owned or managed by the Academy Music Group, so it stands apart from that chain.
Rock, pop, and indie and alternative acts make up most of the bookings, with 93 upcoming shows listed and 20 of them in the next 30 days. Allie X, Airbag (Norway), Against the Current and The Home Team are among those coming up. Shows usually start around 19:00, and tickets seen so far range from £25 to £55.
