About National Stadium
National Stadium in Dublin was purpose-built for boxing, and it is still operated by the Irish Athletic Boxing Association. The idea came from Major General W. R. E. Murphy, Deputy Commissioner of the Garda Síochána, who proposed it in early 1935 and, with his wife Mary Agnes Murphy, raised roughly a third of the funds. It was completed in 1939 and now hosts more than 55 days of boxing a year, alongside a number of other events.
Current bookings lean towards pop, rock, and electronic and dance music. Eight shows are listed, four of them in the next 30 days. Soonest up are TOMORA, Boney M, Saint Levant, The Fray, Montell Fish, The Proclaimers, Avatar and Paris Paloma. Shows usually start around 19:00.
