About O2 Academy Glasgow
The O2 Academy Glasgow sits on Eglinton Street in Laurieston, in the Gorbals area of the city. It is a music room with a capacity of 2,500 and once traded as the Carling Academy. For years it shared Glasgow with the O2 ABC, a sister venue in the same group, until fire damage closed that site in 2018. The Academy now stands alone as the group's Glasgow address.
Music on the bill tends towards rock, pop, and indie and alternative acts. Upcoming headliners include Tyla, Stephen Wilson Jr., Soul II Soul, Brandon Flowers, The Vintage Explosion, Fat Freddy's Drop, Keo and Deaf Havana, with 74 shows listed overall and 18 of them in the next 30 days. Shows usually start around 19:00, the most common age policy is 14+, and the venue has hosted one festival date.
